Back in Ithaca
I meant to post this yesterday, but I'd been up since 3am to head back home, so I basically collapsed on the couch once the necessary cleaning and unpacking occurred. Flight and drive back were very easy. Traveling before New Year's is cheaper and less popular, and since this year wasn't going to be a big New Year's Eve in the traditional sense for me, it seemed like the thing to do. We managed to miss weather by a day both times - big storm hit the day after we left for Texas, and today we've been getting heavy snow. Lucky us. We came home to an unpleasant smell though - our smallest fish didn't survive while we were gone. Bleh. Fortunately, we kept the apartment pretty cold, so it wasn't overwhelming. So we had to deal with getting him out (the other fish had attempted to bury him, no joke), and changing the water and filter out. Then Eric went to the store and I unpacked all our stuff. That has to be some kind of record for me...I'm the "leave it sit for several days or weeks until you need the stuff" kind. But I guess I did need the stuff, since I just don't have all that many clothes that fit. I did pick up belly jeans in Texas (God, I miss JC Penny's), but they are still too big for me. /sigh Then I opened my presents from Mom! She'd sent them FedEx, and they were supposed to drop them at the office since we were not home, but they just left the package there. So it was sitting at our door for almost two weeks with a little sticker saying "We delivered your package!" on it (ORLY?!). Good thing that there's practically no crime in Ithaca. Anyway, thank you, Moogie! Then we put our new fleece sheets on the bed (a gift from Eric's parents) - they are sooooo soft...and I slept for 11 hours. YUM. Oh, and of course, the ultrasound is this afternoon. I get to see my baby today! Current Music: Let It Snow |

Pregnancy Update - 20 Weeks
Not much going on, sometimes I can even forget that I am pregnant now, which is a nice thing. I am getting annoying headaches and backaches, I notice that I'm heavier when I try to run up the stairs, and none of my pants fit correctly anymore, but all in all, it's pretty fun right now since I get to feel the baby move a lot and I'm not too uncomfortable yet. :D Merry Christmas everyone, hope that you are having a nice time and that everyone's families are well. |

30 Day Meme - Days 15-17 A FanficI haven't been reading much fanfic lately, so I will just post the link to Steven Brust's My Own Kind of Freedom because I feel like I can't go wrong with that. A Song that Makes Me CryMost things make me cry lately. Yay, pregnancy hormones! But I always cry when I try to sing Amazing Grace - not only because it's often played at funerals, but also because it's just so beautiful. An Art PieceThe Three Graces
Nicole took this one for me the second time we went to the Met. She's such a great travel companion, she loves snapping the pictures, which gives me time to just enjoy - miss traveling with you, Nicole! It caught my eye, I guess because I've grown up one of three girls (not that we ever hang around naked together, sorry guys). I also really like this painting - two redheads (one slightly darker) and a blond. Hee! 30 Day Meme |
